2nd Annual All American Quilt Along (QAL)
A Quilt Along to Honor Veterans Across the U.S.A.

- Guest Quilters Andrew Lee (the Combat Quilter) and Maureen McNally
will be honoring Veterans by donating their quilt to their local Quilt of Valor for awarding.
- Two Prizes (see below for more details on how to win!)
- Prize #1 a copy of the book Quilts Of Valor A 50 State Salute by the Quilts of Valor Foundation and contributing authors with a foreword by Marianne Fons.
- Prize #2 - the Grand Prize - a $100 gift card for Red Thread Studio
The fun kicks off October 4th, 2021 and will last for 5 weeks. You'll get a weekly e-mail on Mondays, which will include the prompt for that week along with relevant tips and tricks.
Schedule
Week 1: Pulling and cut our fabric
Week 2: Sew half square triangles squares (there are 56)
Week 3: Sew stripes together
Week 4: Sew flying geese units (there are 16) and assemble stars
Week 5: Add borders and assemble your quilt top

Last, but not least, make sure you have the free pattern! When you sign up to join the All American QAL, you will receive a link for an instant download for the pattern.

Important Dates:
- October 4th: Last day to post I'm In graphic (shown below) for Prize #1
- October 5th: Winner announced for Prize #1 (a copy of the book Quilts Of Valor A 50 State Salute by the Quilts of Valor Foundation and contributing authors with a foreword by Marianne Fons)
- November 10th: Last day to post a photo of your completed top or quilt for the Grand Prize
- November 11th is Veterans Day: Winner announced for the Grand Prize (a $100 Red Thread Studio eGift Card)

You have until the start of the Quilt Along (October 4th) to enter. The winner will be chosen at random on October 5th. Giveaway is open worldwide!

Grand Prize
If you finish your quilt top, post a photo of your finished quilt top by 11:59 pm November 10, 2021 in your time zone on Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #AllAmericanQAL for a chance to win a $100 Red Thread Studio eGift Card. (Your quilt top can be quilted, but it’s not a requirement for prize eligibility.)

Quilts of red, white and blue are so beautiful! I made one for my son-in-law who is an Air Force veteran.

Joining in again this year to honor all veterans, wspecially my dad. I will be donating my Quilt to the Longmont Quilt Guilds, Bee Sew Brave group. we are making quilts for a Tiny home community for homless veteran, in Longmont, Colorado.
I am a Gulf War Veteran who admires the Quilts of Valor that I have seen.. I am anxious to make my first quilt for one of my Army veterans..
