Yo-Yos — also known as Suffolk Puffs or even Yo-Yo Puffs! If the names alone make you smile, imagine a workshop devoted to making these delightful 3D puffs.
In this class you’ll learn how to create Rachaeldaisy’s signature pieced Yo-Yos, arranged to frame a fabulous feature fabric. Watching the puffs come together is pure magic as they form a textured, eye-catching design.
In the workshop you’ll make a single block for a gorgeous pillow. Then if you enjoy the process you can create several blocks to make a quilt.
This project was originally designed to showcase fun feature fabrics. However, if you don’t have a particular fabric you’d like to highlight, there are plenty of other creative possibilities.
You might frame an appliqué design — such as a pretty bird, flower, or heart. It would also work beautifully with a wool-felt appliqué scene or a child’s favourite animal. Another option is to embroider an uplifting message or meaningful saying in the centre. There are also many wonderful circular machine-embroidery designs that would suit this project perfectly.
The workshop includes a relaxed mix of hand sewing and simple machine sewing, perfect for enjoying the process while stitching something different and fabulous. (4 hour workshop)

Love taking classes from Rachael. Lots of great information on picking our fabrics. I enjoyed learning how to make the two tone yo-yo’s and learning how to make yo-yo’s without a Clover yo-yo maker. Rachael also shared her yo-yo sample pages. I would love to have a class on all the ways she embellishes yo-yo. Im looking forward to more classes with Rachael. I made a Christmas pillow. Thanks Jen for having zoom classes.
Great workshop as always. I am not really a yo yo fan, so I mainly took class because Rachel was teaching it. Cute project.
I love Rachael and her work! I love strengthening my creative skills with her playful and encouraging style of teaching!
I enjoyed this class so much. Since I wasn't feeling well I just watched the class and didn't actually sew during the presentation, and I got just as much out of it as I would have if I had sewn. Rachaeldaisy is a really good teacher and is so much fun. I had also taken the heart class from her and that was a great class too. When she comes back to teach again I'm sure I will take that class too. Zoom classes work for me so well. Thank you, Jen and Rachaeldaisy, for these classes.
