Welcome to Red Thread Studio!

I am Jen, a busy mom of two middle school aged kids with a puppy in tow.  Inspired by watching my Grandma quilt and crochet when I was a girl, I've always loved to make things with my hands.  I like to learn new techniques and skills but don't always have the time to sit down and sew on my machine.

Enter sashiko or Japanese embroidery and English paper piecing!  Be it football practice or dance lessons, these mobile stitch crafts allow me to feed my passion for creating even when I am on the go.

There is an old Chinese proverb that says an invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break.
